Jim Hinnant, Host
Thanks
for checking out the web pages. My name is Jim Hinnant, and I've
been the host of Wake Up Wayne since June, 2005. I hold a
BS degree in Broadcast Engineering with a minor in Computer
Science... a geek, in other words, but I lost my pocket protector
many years ago. If you don't understand that last part, call me,
and I'll explain.
While in college, I was the Saturday morning
"DJ" for our campus radio station. Back then, we
actually used LP and 45's to play music...and we had a "panic
cart" we could throw in if we got caught in a tight
situation. Funny, but everyone in the Radio/TV Department knew all
the songs on the "panic cart", so we'd know when someone
else was in trouble, and we'd get a good laugh.
My favorite aspect of broadcasting was television,
and I was on the "Show My People" syndicated television
program crew for 3 years. This is the first time since college
that I have had a regular broadcast program, and I'm loving every
bit of it. I also direct some of the races at Southern
National, High School football games, and Crime
Stoppers Telethons, so stop by the video van and say hello if
you're at one of these events.
Aaron's is a great sponsor, and I really do
encourage everyone to go by and check out their store. I was
impressed when I first walked in the door with what they have, and
I go by and walk through the store just to check out the new
items.
I am married and have two kids, both in college.
My wife works at Sam's as a product demonstrator.
I own HB
Systems, Inc., a software development firm, and am part-owner
and manager of Xpress
Communications, LLC, and internet service provider here in
Goldsboro.
If you have any suggestions or comments, feel free
to drop me a note. I love hearing from everyone.
